A few years back i got commissioned to create a mega mix for one of my all time favorite groups Prelude to a Million. As a part of the mix I did one mega mix featuring all of the members of Prelude and the family of talent. Then I also got to deep dive on each of the individual members, Tic Tock, Dub Z, and J Diction. So with this mix I want to showcase the talents of Tic Tock. I also make a cameo with a verse in this mix so see if you can catch my voice! Hit me up if you hear me! I present this mix to you in its essence no drops just straight fire music and bars from my friend and brother Tic Tock!
After you finish listening, or while you're listening in the background be sure to check out Prelude to a Million on all streaming platforms!
I once heard a quote that goes something like, prepare for the winter all summer and prepare for the summer all winter. I always tell people that I have my beach body in January. Normally I do so when I travel I'm ready! Well like a lot of people the Covid hit me hard and i let myself go a little bit...I gained some pounds and lost some friends, but now I'm looking for REVENGE! I made this mix with my revenge body in mind. I'll be going hard in the gym and hope you are inspired to do the same. Even if its not for the gym its still a good mix to get amped up to!
Check out Ready 2 Sweat Pt. 2: Revenge Body now streaming right here and on my mixcloud! (Hear Pt. 1 the international version on mixcloud as well)
If you want some custom mixes or need that DJ Khalid type motivation to go along with your mixes hit me up I can get you right with a custom version specifically for your workout!!
Over the past year or so I have had the opportunity to rock with the FlyCool Club on a number of occasions. So I was very excited to see them dropping the new album. This is definitely one of my favorite tracks to bump while I’m riding. Just a real cool vibe dope production and a good message without being an overly soft love song or too aggressive. A good breakout hit from up and coming artist Carleone out of St. Louis, MO. Check out his other joint off the project as well I really like “Something Safe” too.
My homie Derek Dow asked me to write a letter to my younger self for a project he was working on. Of course my letter took the form of a song. We took that song and made this little video. I listen to it now a few years later and it still moves me the way it did then when i wrote it. So here is my #throwbackthursday "Letter to My Younger Self"
Flashback Friday or Throwback Thursday....whatever day it is here is a look back at a short snippet of my favorite cuffin season song. This video was shot after the recording session for the song. Check out the clip and full song below the video.

This month at SIC Sundays we are celebrating the music of Snoop Dogg. I must say this mix was hard simply because snoop has so much flavor and so many different styles. it was not as hard as the 2Pac mix but definitely you know when its time to mix a legends catalog. Its simply hard to contain an entire catalog to less than 15 minutes and be representative. But here it is for my west coast gangsta rap and Snoop Dogg fans. Come check out my bro DJ Kwiet Storm in his live tribute mix to snoop this sunday at our event. Tickets available now!
If you have watched the latest episode of Tell A Friend Tuesdays 9/5/2017 then you heard this instrumental in the background. If you haven't you can check that out on my facebook page This joint is definitely one of the records that I am very proud of. Its features me and producer Sammy Vee doing what we do. I think this song connects with my #TAFT message which is to Worry Less, Care More. I talk about worrying and slipping into a bad state of mind. After realizing i was in a bad place i just said eff it lets make this work and do something bigger! My opening line goes.. I used to be an average joe, I'm not really interested in being average no more. This reigns true for me everyday. So check out the joint let me know what you think. Don't forget to check out my latest Tell A Friend Tuesday video on my facebook page as well. www.facebook.com/p1rap
Hey I would like to invite you out to the 3rd edition of our Silent Party! If i had to guess I think i'll be on the hip hop top 40 and trap channel...but we always end up getting down and having a bunch of flavors on every channel. It is party of my birthday celebration of events so put it on your calendar and come out to party with me and the squad, Saturday Night at Smokin Hot Lounge!
Have you ever heard a song and just knew that the song was speaking your life? It happens to me at times, its like the artist is speaking my experience and in touch with what I'm feeling and going through at that very moment. This song right here did it for me. I just heard it for the first time today on the NPR Tiny Desk Concert (i recommend any music lover check that series out). I heard the acoustic version and then checked out the record itself and I'm still blown away. This is my life RIGHT NOW at this moment! Check it out I'm sure other people are dealing with something similiar. And drop your link to other life songs in the comments below. I like to hear songs where artists get it right and really capture that moment, feeling, situation and create the perfect soundtrack for people going through it!
Last week I dropped a collection of Only4TheReal.com mixes that i assembled as a collection. This week I went back live on the show. Check out the latest news and (sh*t) talk from Bunday on the 8/10/2017 Episode of the O4TR radio show feat a mix by yours truly.
1. Artist that don't promote! I put you on the show, don't you want your people to know that you will be performing there as well??? Maybe maybe not but yeah if you don't promote your performance on any show you're on then you will definitely piss the promoter off!
2. People asking for information thats on the flyer! Why would i make a flyer and you see it and then you call/text/message me and ask me whats the details...bruh! I know i can't put the map in the picture but there are some words there that might contain the information that you are asking me to send you. Make it easy on me and you don't piss me off by asking me this...even though ill probably tell you grudgingly. I Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
3. Texting me on the day of the show telling me you're not coming... OKAY *Jay-Z Voice* I can't do anything about that. I'll miss you I guess. I still have other people to entertain ill see you next time!
4. Artists showing up late/no showing...WHY would you do this? You know I'm going to tell every other promoter I know that you did this and your reputation will be impacted. Unless you don't give af. So yeah show up, and show up on time and lets get the show crackin!
5. People that are not on the list that ask the door person to come get me! Fam just spend the bread support the establishment and the business and the scene that many people have worked very hard to create. I'm going to tell you that at the door anyway, and I'm already dealing with 74 other pressing issues during the show so spare me on the you don't have your wallet move. Plus my door person likes to collect money make her job easier! Its the only considerate thing to do.
DPMO Don't Piss Me Off
I could put more things on this list but these 5 really piss me off...so with that said I hope to see you August 20th at SIC Sundays 2 Year Anniversary. All will be forgiven if you show up to our special celebration! Info is on the flyer lol
If you have followed me and are a fan of what i do, you may know that I am a big fan of Only4TheReal.com! Bundy and Jay are my brothers and I can say in some respects they discovered me and helped push my talents out to the Chicago scene early on. For that I'm forever grateful and we still rock to this day heavy. With that said as i evolved and got into the DJ game I was looking for opportunities and radio outlets and Bundy came through with the plug. These mixes have been featured on Only4TheReal Radio and each mix is built around a couple songs picked by the O4TR staff and the rest curated and mixed by me. Its a project that I have been proud to be apart of. I encourage you all to get in tune with them and check out the radio show when it airs. In the meantime and between time here is a small collection of the first few weeks of mixes that I did for the radio station available for free download for 7 days! I have physical copies that will go up for sale shortly as well. But here it is for the free just click the pic and download now.
This Saturday Night August 5th come party with me at The Crossing in Worth IL! It's been almost 3 months so I'm looking forward to comin back and rocking in the place to be in Worth on Saturday nights!
I first discovered Rex Life's Rajj after listening to another friends song she on Spotify. The first joint I ever heard was Running Man that song floored me! Then I heard GPS another banger in my book. The song that I stuck on repeat though wasn't this joint here. It's very new wave but chill while still preserving great lyrics and word play in lieu of the "mumble" rap and excessive adlib autotune vibe of many records out now. I was definitely excited to discover husband music amen think I will remain a fan. Check out the vid!
Check out the latest episode of The Supreme Show with Bundy! Only4TheReal Radio. Ill be dropping mixes on the show every week so stay tuned in. This is huge to me because Only4TheReal.com was one of the first platforms to rock with my music as an artist. I briefly blogged for the website and now i get to drop mixes on their radio. So salute one more time to lil big bro Bundy and remember FakeNeedNotApply.
What can you say about Super Producer Timbaland...one of the most influential music makers of our generation. When he was chosen as this months tribute artist i must admit at first I did not know where to start. So many records so little time. So to keep it simple i picked mostly his hip hop records so unfortunately no aaliyah or ginuwine on this one. (You can find them in some of my r&b mixes tho check them out on my dj tab) But i did manage to get a few of his biggest hits and a couple sleeper cuts and im sure there is at least 1-2 songs on there that you may not know Timbo produced. So check it out and if you're in Chicago and you would like to hear more Timbaland tributes at our live event then be sure to check out SIC Sundays! There is a ticket link below. So i submitted this R&B and smooth hip hop mix to a radio station for inclusion in an after dark mix. I just found out yesterday that they said no to accepting it....SO i have it here available for you all. Its a cool mix for your late night wine sipping night cap. Or when you're headed home from the club with your companion. Check it out and let me know what occasion you would play it at.
